Thank you!

There’s a certain kind of bravery required to try something new.

The kind where excitement and doubt sit side by side. Where you plan and prepare and invite people in, all while quietly wondering, what if no one comes? What if it’s a bust? What if the vendors, most of whom are friends we personally invited people, spend their entire day with us and walk away wishing they hadn’t said yes?

We felt all of that leading up to our Earth Day + National Picnic Day event.

And. It. Was. Incredible. Truly incredible!

Two hugging

Right at 10:00, the first cars began to arrive. Within 45 minutes, we were already rethinking parking and figuring out how to expand. And then it just kept going. More families, more friends, more laughter filling the farm and one of the most beautiful things was that you stayed!

You brought your chairs and blankets and settled in. You listened to the music all the way through the final song. You wandered the trails, visited with the animals, and soaked in the beauty of the day. You shopped with our amazing vendors, explored the greenhouse, and stocked up on plants. You let your kids play, you laughed with friends, and you fully embraced a day outside.

It was everything we hoped it would be — and more!

At one point, I realized my cheeks actually hurting from smiling so much. Brandon and I were completely exhausted by the end of the day, but when we finally got to bed, we couldn’t even wind down. We just kept replaying moments, telling each other little stories from throughout the day, still riding the high of it all.

Even Lainey (our bottle lamb) was sad to see everyone leave — which feels like the sweetest, simplest sign of just how special the day really was.

To everyone who came out: thank you! Truly, from the bottom of our hearts. The power of showing up is greater than you probably realize. Your presence brought the farm to life in a way that we will never forget.

To our vendors: thank you for believing in this event and in us. You are such a huge part of what made the day feel vibrant and meaningful, and it meant so much to see people gathered around your booths, supporting what you do.

To the band: thank you for creating the soundtrack to such a beautiful day. You added something that can’t quite be put into words — but it was felt by everyone there.

And to all of you who continue to support this farm in big and small ways — thank you.

We truly believe that we don’t own this land, we are simply stewards of it for this time. And as stewards, we feel a deep responsibility not just to care for it, but to share it. Not everyone gets to live on 90 acres surrounded by animals, open space, and quiet beauty… so why wouldn’t we open it up for others to experience?

That might seem so noble, but if we’re honest, there’s also something selfish about it too. We hope that as you walk these fields, meet these animals, and enjoy these green spaces, you grow to love them too. And when you love something, you want to protect it.

As the Native American proverb says, “We do not inherit the land from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.”

That sits heavy in the best kind of way.

We hope we are leaving this land better than we found it for our daughter. And more than that, we hope we’re building something worth passing down — not just acres of land, but a deep appreciation for it, and a community that sees its value, too.

Saturday felt like a glimpse of that.

So again — thank you.

For showing up. For supporting. For believing in what we’re building here.

We’re still smiling about it and we'll see you next year: Saturday, April 24th, 2027!
