🍂 Fall on the Farm: Cozy Meals, Community, and a Season of Change

Fall has officially settled in at Bowers Farm, well, ya know, as much as it can in South Carolina. It's fall in our hearts and every few days it feels like it's here and maybe a little bit in the mornings, hahaha, but there's still enough heat to remind us we're not living in Stars Hollow. Regardless, Autumn on the farm always feels like a time of gathering, both at our own table and in the community we love being part of.
🐓 Cozy Meals Made Simple
We’re excited to share that our pasture-raised chicken is fully restocked! Whether you’re planning a quick weeknight dinner or a hearty Sunday meal, these cuts make it easy to enjoy wholesome food that’s raised with care. And for those crisp evenings when all you want is something warm and nourishing, our Bowers Farm chicken broth is a wonderful item to have ready at a moments notice in your kitchen. Perfect for sipping straight from a mug, or simmering into soups and stews, it’s definitely a fall must-have.

On the pork side, we have a little reminder—pork shares are officially sold out for the year. That means what’s currently in our freezers is all we’ll have until the new year. If you’ve been eyeing your favorite cuts, now’s the time to stock up and tuck a few away for the holiday season. A few cuts and flavors of sausage are already sold out and a number are very low in stock.
⚽ Cheering on the Community
One of the highlights of this fall is cheering from the sidelines as Bowers Farm, our sponsored Newberry Rec League soccer team, takes the field. Youth sports, especially soccer, was very important to me growing up and it is so fun to watch RA find enjoyment in this sport as well. The opportunity to sponsor a team is also a reminder that when you shop local - your dollar stays local. I don't know the exact number, but I do know it's the overwhelming majority of rec teams, in our area at least, are sponsored by the local businesses - NOT the big box shops in the area.
Here at the farm, we’ve also been welcoming students and families for field trips and birthday parties. Our new pavilion has quickly become a favorite gathering spot, offering shelter, space, and the perfect backdrop for learning and celebrating farm life. Seeing kids’ faces light up as they meet the animals or collect eggs is one of the best parts of what we do. We do have some availability this fall for gatherings to rent the pavilion space as well as many openings in the new year - if you happen to be someone who plans that far out in advance.

🏡 Fall Stays at the Farm
And if you're looking for a cozy fall escape? Our Airbnb has some limited availability this month and honestly it couldn’t be a more perfect time to visit. Think crisp mornings with coffee on the porch, afternoons exploring the farm, and evenings by the firepit under a blanket of stars. Fall colors, farm animals, and country quiet make for the kind of getaway that resets your soul.
🌾 A Season of Change
Fall is a season of change, and we feel it deeply here on the farm. The pace of chores shifts with the shorter days, meals move toward heartier favorites, and our work is always looking ahead—planning for winter and dreaming about spring. Through it all, we’re grateful to share not only what we raise but also a piece of life here at Bowers Farm.
Thank you for being part of our story this season. Whether you’re enjoying a warm bowl of broth, cheering on the sidelines of the soccer field, or planning your next farm visit, we hope your fall is filled with comfort, community, and joy.
