Farmsgiving: The Beauty of Not Knowing Who Will Come

The question we get asked most often leading up to Farmsgiving is a practical one: “How many people are coming?”
And this year, our answer was the same as last year, and will be our answer next year.
We don’t know.
There’s no RSVP list capped at a certain number. No headcount finalized days in advance. No certainty about how many chairs we’ll need or how many plates to set out. And yet—it works.
That uncertainty is not a flaw of Farmsgiving. It’s the heart of it. We have faith that there will be enough.
Farmsgiving is an open table. It’s a reminder that community doesn’t always come neatly planned or perfectly measured. Sometimes it comes in waves. Sometimes it comes quietly. Sometimes it comes with extra friends you didn’t know were coming until they pulled into the driveway.
This year’s Farmsgiving was no exception. People arrived carrying dishes made with care, sharing memories of the farm, laughter and conversations spilling out, and hearts open to sitting next to someone they may not have met before. Strangers made connections. Neighbors reconnected. And once again, the food stretched farther than we expected.
There’s something deeply grounding about sharing a meal this way—about not knowing exactly who will be there, but preparing anyway. About trusting that if you show up with what you have, it will be enough. That’s a lesson farming teaches us over and over again, and Farmsgiving is simply an extension of that truth.
At a time of year when so much feels hurried, divided, or transactional - Farmsgiving slows everything down. It reminds us that abundance isn’t just about full plates—it’s about shared effort, mutual care, and the willingness to make space for one another. One of the most beautiful things said about Farmsgiving was, "this has become the best way to kick off the holiday season for us!" The an idea that a meal at the farm, shared with strangers, would be the grounding and starting point for someones holiday season is something that has sat with me since that day.
We are endlessly grateful for everyone who came, cooked, sat, listened, shared, and helped make this gathering what it was. You turned an unknown number into a full table, and a simple potluck into something sacred.
We're so grateful for Kayla Marie Photography to capture the evening! She's already marked her calendar for next year! Have you?!
Sunday, November 15, 2026 - we'll see you on the farm for our third annual Farmsgiving!
